A new article by IGI is now available in Issue 4 of GeoExpro

from an integrated geochemical and petroleum systems modelling study in the Dalmatian platform and foreland basin, offshore Montenegro – Hot Enough in the South-East Adriatic? (Pg 74).

It reveals the existence of a new oil-prone Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous source rock in the region, in addition to the well-established Late Triassic-Early Jurassic levels, and indicates optimal conditions for the development of a biogenic gas play in the foreland basin. This study was promoted by Energean, who operates two blocks offshore Montenegro, and helped to recognize the potential that is reinvigorating the interest in the region.
