We said one last goodbye to Dan two weeks ago at North Devon Crematorium. After the service, we headed back to Dan and Julie’s home (formerly the IGI offices) on a gloriously warm September’s day.

The 2026 IGI User Group Meeting has been rescheduled to 03 - 11 November 2026. Â Throughout the week, we will be hosting group sessions at 08:00 and 15:00 (BST/UK time) each day. Each session will be approximately one hour long and will cover the topics listed below.

25-Norhopanes have been reported in biodegraded oils since the late 1970s, and Seifert & Moldowan (1979) proposed that the methyl group at C-25 in the regular hopanes was removed by microbial demethylation associated with the degradation at the oil/water contact of an oil accumulation.
