p:IGI+ and Metis version 3.1 is ready to go and available for you to download. Building on top of v3.0 released back in April this year, v3.1 allows you to explore more types of data than ever before.
We will be presenting version 3.1 at this year’s Online User Group, which starts on Tuesday 22nd September. There will be a series of workbooks released that allow users to discover the new functionality.
What’s new:
· After being a long-standing feature request users can now Import LAS File data
o p:IGI+ supports the import of Log ASCII standard (LAS 2.0) files dealing with both wrapped and unwrapped formats.
o There’s also a new Borehole Log Plot which visualises LAS file data alongside geochemical sample data.
We have two specific features to enhance support for water geochemistry:
o p:IGI+ now supports non-quantified values (NQVs) for when there’s not an exact measure of a property.
§ Values such as “nd”, “nil”, “<0.01”, “bdl” are supported
o Stiff plots are now available and are especially suited to showed water related properties such as ions.
· Star plots are now available as Line plots and parallel coordinate plots and can be shown as wrapped and unwrapped
We’ve improved usability by:
- Extending line plot pre-processing options
- Improved the upload, viewing and editing of site and borehole data
- Introducing 26 new auto-artefacts with version 3.1
In addition to the above, in Metis:
· it’s now possible to upload stratigraphic tops alongside sample information in Metis Transform.
· We have improved how compatibility is shown between Metis and p:IGI+
· Discover now retains changes to a property set on export.
The standard Machine Learning tools were made freely available to all users in version 3.0. Since April, we’ve added:
- A local runner allowing users to host the ML tools on their own machine alongside p:IGI+
- Improved PCA and ICA to be able to show component loadings on the projected data plots
- Unmixing has been extended to allow confidence to be set per end member
- An AI assistant has been added to the advanced ML tools. Read more here:

- Users have better control of the number of values that must be present in samples before predictions are made
- Brushing has been improved across the ML tools
